One of the more helpless feelings is feeling that within yourself, within a moment, there is a will to create and yet the inability to let free the thoughts confined within one's mind. Writers block, when experienced, can cripple an artist and hinder his or her own growth. It can occur on many occasions for different reasons and there are as many solutions as there are problems. Creating and creation are abstract concepts, as least in terms of writing and art which are purely human constructs in which we, the host, be that the creator or the experiencer, give it power beyond its structure. Thoughts, ideas, and concepts are shared though insubstantial mediums which in all intents and purposes act as a unique mode of communication. I suppose like any form of communication, it can be done in both superior and inferior qualities and quantities. I myself feel a connection through music. The structure and rhythms, rules which are undoubtedly meant to be broken, force a restriction which feeds creativity as easily as the limitlessness of all art. Creativity is hindered not by the world but by the creators ability to understand abstraction, or possible freed by his/her's inability to understand concrete conceptions which in itself may be the very wall which brings forth creative limitations. It would make sense since those who possess a certain level of education, specifically post-secondary, are less likely to have the same artistic and creative tendencies as those that don't subject themselves to similar levels of logic and analytical skills and exercises, although there does not exist a 100 percent correlation, and as is the vital and stead-fast mantra of economics correlation does not equal causation. The world is filled with infinite variables which cannot be understood nor analyzed, and therefore we are all faced with different levels of reductionism in our analysis of everything and anything in the world around us. The ideal of Holism is a misnomer for we are not truly debating the meta-methodological methods as they are truly conceptualized, but we are considering the reductionist method as different levels and extremes. How this consideration of methodological ideals came about through writers block and the struggle for creativity is unknown to me, but it brings forth another interesting debate, and that is the unruly behaviour of the human mind, which struggles at time, especially my own, to stay focused on a singular topic. On that note, I leave you to your own thoughts and considerations, and I hope to be blessed with the ability to learn your own ideals, ideas, conceptions and abstractions for there is nothing more exciting in my own mind than the unhindered perspective of another human being.
